Creative, Fun Wine & Food Expertise Comes to Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City, UT March 10, 2004 -– Food and wine lovers in the Salt Lake City area now have a local resource for all things wine. Basic Juice, a Utah company dedicated to enhancing wine and food knowledge, offers a wide range of classes, independent wine reviews and personal sommelier services.
The founder of Basic Juice, Beau Jarvis, a Utah native, is excited to share his love of wine. “Finding the perfect wine & food combination can turn even a simple dinner into a memorable experience.” Says Jarvis, who received the bulk of his food and wine training in New York City. Mr. Jarvis believes wine should be approached in a fun, down-to-earth manner.
Basic Juice has developed a series of classes for wine newcomers. These classes are designed to help anyone who has ever been confused about wine. For those who are wine enthusiasts, Basic Juice offers classes on a number of topics including sparkling wine and food pairing, Spanish wine and tapas, and dessert wines. Classes begin April 6th and are held at Gygi Culinary Institute (www.gygi.com) of Salt Lake City.
Basic Juice publishes an independent review of wine available in Utah state liquor stores. The review rates each wine on a five star scale and provides easy-to-read descriptions and food pairing ideas. All reviews are available free of charge on the Basic Juice Website. Basic Juice also offers personal sommelier services for restaurateurs and event planners. Personal sommeliers can custom-tailor wine selections to compliment any menu.
All members of Basic Juice are certified sommeliers through the Sommelier Society or America. They have also received training from the French Culinary Institute, the Wine & Spirits Education Trust of England and the Court of Master Sommeliers.
