Singles Enjoy Summer Gourmet Wine Tasting Tour of Michigan
LOCKPORT, IL April 27, 2004 -- Kick off your summer with a first-class wine tour in Chicago’s own backyard. Singles Travel International departs Chicago on a journey through Michigan’s wine country where the group will be staying at first class resorts and enjoying some of the regions best wine and cuisine. From June 26–30, 2004, adult singles will enjoy 4 nights of deluxe accommodations in this all-inclusive trip, 3 wine tastings, a cream sherry tasting, and a champagne and wine reception. Also included are a carriage tour of Mackinac Island, a sail on a catamaran, and tours of the Dutch-influenced village of Holland and the Bavarian-style village of Frankenmuth. Cost of the trip starts at $998 from Chicago.
Travelers will relax in a luxury motorcoach that transports them throughout the adventure. The wine flows as the singles visit 2 of the finest wineries in Southeast Michigan. Next stop is Holland, Michigan for an authentic Dutch experience. In Mount Pleasant, travelers will stay 2 nights at the sparkling new Soaring Eagle Resort & Casino, Michigan’s only 4 Diamond Resort & Casino featuring fine dining, deluxe accommodations, full service spa and outdoor swimming pool. There, the group will indulge in Bavarian delights with lunch in Frankenmuth, a cream sherry tasting at St. Julien, and a visit to the world’s largest Christmas store, Brommers.
The next day, Singles Travel crosses the Straits of Mackinac on a high speed catamaran to the magnificent Grand Hotel where warm hospitality and a sumptuous buffet lunch await the group. A private horse drawn carriage escorts the group around town and the afternoon is free to explore by foot or bicycle. Later, the travelers will celebrate in "grand" fashion in the evening with a wine & champagne reception in the Cupola, with its breathtaking views, followed by a gourmet meal and dancing to a live orchestra. Dress codes are enforced so that all guests are comfortable in the elegant atmosphere; jacket and tie for gentlemen and dress for ladies.
After a wholesome, early morning breakfast the next day, the group will head to beautiful Traverse City. The ride ends with a wine tasting lunch at the historic Black Star Farms on Leelanau Peninsula. Guests will meet the winemaker and learn about this family owned winery, creamery and horse farm with its unique heritage and agricultural abundance. This last night will be spent at the Grand Traverse Resort & Spa. The trip ends with a ride home via Saugatuck, where they will stop for optional lunch and shopping in this quaint, lakeside town.
